Updated Critical Values Table

When the result of an examination presents a CRITICAL VALUE, it means a pathophysiological state of risk to the patient’s life and should be immediately reported to the requesting physician.

 

The communication of these results is the responsibility of the laboratory.

 

We updated the Critical Values table of adults and children in relation to the following parameters:

 

Quantitative values of adults and children

 

Clinical Chemistry: Uric acid, ionic calcium, total calcium, CK-MB activity, Lactate, Magnesium, Thyroxine (T4) free, Triiodothyronine (T3) total,

Hematology: Leukocyte count, Platelet count, Hematocrit, Prothrombin time, Activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT),

Hemoglobin
