Laboratories should also perform CEQ of the differential leukocyte count
One of the tests performed in greater number in the daily routine of the laboratories is Blood Count. The vast majority of the laboratories perform it in an automated way, in analyzers provided by the market and participate in an Proficiency Test such as PRO-EX. Since the differential leukocyte count is part of the routine test, there should also be an external quality control for this procedure!
As you already know, according to the RDC 302:2005 of ANVISA, the participation of the clinical laboratories in an External Quality Control Program is mandatory.
The Basic Hematology Program contains control samples for the following parameters:
a) Cell count: Red blood cells, Leukocytes, Platelets and Reticulocytes.
b) Determination: Hematocrit and Hemoglobin.
c) Hematimetric Indices: CHGM, HGM, VGM, and RDW.
The HEMATOLOGY II Advanced Program consists in the evaluation of blood cell virtual images for identification and differential count. A patient’s history and the results of the parameter counts by the equipment are also provided.
The images are available in the restricted area of the Participating Laboratories, in the open lot and are made available monthly.
To contract the HEMATOLOGY II Advanced Program you only need to send an e-mail to pncq@pncq.org.br, informing your code of Participating Laboratory.
