The PNCQ  - National  Program  of  Quality  Control -  started its activities in 1976, during the  Fifth  Brazilian  Congress of  Clinical Analyses in Belo Horizonte – MG, where a  lyophilized serum was  distributed  to some laboratories for determined dosages in biochemistry.

Later other control samples were  sent,  without defined frequencies. From that time on,  PNCQ  was administered by SBAC, Brazilian Society of Clinical Analyses, either directly or in an outsourced way, when in 1985, SBAC decided definitively to administer  PNCQ, until it was changed into an independent legal entity  in 1993, initiating a new  phase of growth and modernization of the Program, making it the biggest and the best  existing  Program in the country,  with  the introduction of new materials destined to the External Control, of computerized  spreadsheets  of  result insertion  into the Data  Processing Center  of  PNCQ, through Internet, providing a fast evaluation of the questions of  its clients.

Nowadays, PNCQ is proud of being the biggest Supplier of  Proficiency  Test  reaching all the Country and also of representing Brazil in several international scientific associations, besides having  a considerable support  of  the Clinical Laboratories, both national and international ones, that have been improving  continuously.
